Photo album kept by a Boy Scout 'Brownie' in 1953-1954. He documented his troup's trip to Washington, DC and to a plantation in Virginia. The trip was awarded to the winners of a Boy Scouts "E.R.C. Camporee" in 1953. He also took photos during a trip to 'Camp Glen Gray'; a family vacation at 'Lake Valhala'; and an 'educational trip' to New York City with a friend, 1954.Most photos are numbered and content is labeled on pages inserted into the album. Photos on the last few pages are not described.There are a total of 67 photographs, and at least some of them were taken with the Brownie Junior's camera, according the inserted descriptions.

This scrapbook of a female employee at the Colorado River Relocation Center in Poston, Arizona includes photographs, a poem, programs, correspondence, and other material. The Colorado River Relocation Center is also known as the Poston Relocation Center and was one of the sites internment camps created for Japanese Americans and Japanese nationals by the U.S. government during World War II. Poston is located in present day La Paz County, Arizona. The woman who created this scrapbook, which has been disassembled, is presumed to have been a white federal employee. Two diaries, 1919-1921 and 1921-1922. In daily entries, writer records weather, chores and daily activities, church and social visits, health of friends and family, etc. At the end of each volume there are lists of deaths and weddings, and some accounts, one of which has the heading 'Ladies Aid.' Based on this particular account and on some of the activities described (like making jam for a neighbor) the writer was most likely a women. In front of one volume, and also on some pages scattered throughout the diaries, writer records names and addresses of several people in Clarendon; Chicago, Illinois; Hedgesville, West Virginia; and Bristol, Tennessee.Some of the diary entries suggest that the writer might have been located in the southwestern part of Virginia, or nearby Bristol, Tennessee, but further research is needed to support this claim.

Entries cover family, health, social life, weather, food, work, and trips in and around Washington D.C., Maryland and Virginia. The writer was a member of the Brotherhood of American Railway Engineers. Some of the entries are rather detailed and give a good impression of the daily life of a mid-level office employee at the time.Also included are notes made by a previous owner regarding possible authorship for the diary as well a news clippings.
