Manuscript lecture notes for a course, "The National History of Greece," at the University of Virginia, 1859 November 4-1860 March 2. The flyleaf of the notebooks shows the inscription "William W. Old, Princess Anne C. H., Virginia, Univ. of Virginia, Session 1858-59." William W. Old received the degree of Master of Arts from the University of Virginia in June 1861. Marginal and additional notes were made in 1866-1867. Additional notes on page four are signed "Gil Carl Nov. 6, 1866," the flyleaf also shows a list of names headed "Roll of 66-7."
