Duc Cap of Eleanor Ramsdell

A gray duc cap with trim and the letters WM in green and gold. The owner wrote her name on the back of the cap. Gift of Eleanor Ramsdell, class of 1944. Duc Cap of Virginia Armstrong

Beige/grey wool felt duc cap with green and yellow brim, green felt covered metal button top, and green patch letters 'WM' with yellow stitching. Back of hat is inscribed 'Virginia Armstrong' in black marker, just above the brim. Duc cap belonged to Virginia Armstrong (McKinney), Arts and Sciences Class of 1941. Duc cap is in good condition with a few sections of loss of felt creating weakened areas near the brim and above the inscribed name. Small hole at top of hat where button attaches to crown. Spots of lighter/yellow discoloration on exterior under inscription and on brim. Interior has a .75in. line of black residue. Unrolling brim shows significant damage to the orginial crown color - originially grey, now exposed exterior is beige. Cap measures 7.5in. in diameter when worn and 9.5in. (length) x 5.5in. (height) when flat. Transferred from Alumni Association. Located in Textiles S1 SS2. UA 2011.556

Dudley Warner Woodbridge Gold Charm and Chain

One gold charm attached to a gold chain that once was owned by Dudley Warner Woodbridge, professor and dean of the law school at the College of William and Mary from 1927 to 1966. The front of the charm is inscribed with the initials "D.W.W." and the reverse is inscribed "From Law Students of Marshall Wythe Feb. 24, 1961." Gift of Julia Oxrieder, daughter of Dudley Woodbridge. Located in Dec Obj S2, SS1. UA 2010.710

Dunlap Wig Box of John Stewart Bryan

One tan and red dunlap box that was used by College President John Stewart Bryan to store his wig that was used in the annual Yule Log Ceremony at William and Mary.
