This document is an undated application card filled out by Simon Snyder to apply to join The Pennsylvania-German Society. The application includes various questions such as name, address, occupation, parents names, and date of birth to verify if the applicant is German. The Pennsylvania-German Society was founded in 1764 and is the oldest German-American organization in the country.

Battle of Cebu, The Philippine-American War Box 1, Folder 2

This file contains three newspaper clippings about Colonel Simon Snyder's battle and campaign victory on the island of Cebu during the Philippine-American War. The battle lasted September 22-24th, 1899. Colonel Snyder and 517 soliders of the Sixth, Nineteenth, Twenty-Third Infantry, a detachment of the Sixth Artillery, and volunteers from Tennessee aided in this effort to successfully push Cebuano rebels to the Southwest portion of the city.

Biography of Simon Snyder Box 1, Folder 3

This file contains biographical information about Simon Snyder. There are three documents in this file. Two of the papers are identical and include a drawing of Simon Snyder and information about his life, and the other document is a small biographical booklet written by Benjamin F. Snyder. According to the documents, Simon Snyder was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania on November 5, 1759, was the Governor of Pennsylvania from 1808-1817, and he died in Selinsgrove, Pennsylvania on November 9, 1819.
