Two letters, Nathaniel Beverley Tucker to James McHenry, undated [1860?], and James McHenry to John Fuller, December 17, 1860. Tucker gives advice on handling government contracts. McHenry gives instructions to Fuller on acting for him. Talks about Belknap and sale of muskets between George Law and the Sardinians. Mentions Beverley Tucker interviews with George Peabody. It is marked "private." The Tucker letter is an enclosure to the McHenry letter. Accession 2003.08.

Ellis, and Powhatan Ellis (brothers of Jane Shelton (Ellis) Tucker); Virginia Sarah Tucker Brooke, sister of Nathaniel Beverley Tucker ; Jane Shelton (Ellis) Tucker, wife Nathaniel Beverley Tucker; Anna Maria Washington Tucker, daughter of John Augustine Washington and wife of Beverley Dandridge Tucker; and Beverley Dandridge Tucker and Charles Ellis Tucker, sons of Nathaniel Beverley Tucker. Tucker, [Nathaniel] Beverley (1784-1851) in Franklin, Missouri, to Littleton W[aller] Tazewell. Memorial presented to U.S. Senate by Tucker and others. Tucker believes he was slandered by Senator [David] Berton, one Chairman of the Committee on Public Lands, who implied that Tucker is seeking a grant of land. Western politicians are familiar with fraud and theft. Accompanying memo not present.
