Papers, 1837-1915, n.d., consisting primarily of letters discussing family news, but also the death of Lt. Thomas H. Easley at the Battle of Churubusco during the Mexican War (#5-6), Mexico City and the effects of disease on the occupying U.S. troops during the Mexican War (#7), the aftermath of the Battle of Big Bethel and the activities of Company C, 3rd Virginia Cavalry in late June 1861 (#12), the seige of Petersburg (#13), geographical descriptions of both Leipzeig and Sonnburg, Germany (#17), and genealogical information about the Trayhan family of Halifax County, Virginia (#23). The majority of the letters are transcribed in Betsy Lawson Willis and Martha Barksdale Craddock, comp., Sketches and Genealogy of the Bailey-Craddock-Lawson Families of Virginia and North Carolina . . .
