This collection contains four posters displayed on the Lawn by Hira Azher, an undergraduate at the University of Virginia over the fall and winter of 2020 and 2021.The posters include critiques of the University of Virginia and the police, for white supremacy upheld in these institutions informed by Azher's experiences as a Muslim woman of color. Another poster provided protest and action steps to re-examine the case of Xavier Hill, an unarmed Black teenager, who was killed by the Viriginia State Police in January 2021. Two of the posters have been damaged ripped or torn while on display on the Lawn.

Marion Nolan and Ruth Ferguson collection on Charlottesville/ Albemarle Foundation for the Encouragement of the Arts, 1979/2005 1 Cubic Feet 2 document boxes

The collection consists of files pertaining to events sponsored by CHALFA (Charlottesville/Albemarle Foundation for the Encouragement of the Arts) (1979-2005; cubic foot) and include clippings, articles about Bill Weedon and Marion Nolan, invitations, guest lists, publicity, financial papers, programs, newsletters, ticket stubs, and posters. The collection also contains original charcoal sketches of Marion Nolan and Bill Weedon and "Notes on Marion Nolan and CHALFA," a speech given to the Contemporary Club, January 13, 2005, by Stanton Nolan.

Red Cross artwork, 1919 .25 Cubic Feet One small flat file folder

This collection contains one outsider artwork that appears to honor the Red Cross following the end of World War I. The item has the red cross symbol along with the date, 1919, rendered as a large cross made from red cross stickers. On the back is an additional Red Cross stickers. The artwork is torn on the top left corner.

Addition 14 of MSS 16758, The UVA Collection on Childhood, Parenting, and Family Building contains two promotional posters (22"X6") for the 1965 and 1967 New York Children's Book Week. The art of Caldecott Medal-winning illustrator Barbara Cooney made the artwork for the 1965 poster. The illustration depicts a fox carrying a stack of books with a crow overhead, looking down at the fox perched from a branch with the words "Sing out for Books" in French. The other poster from 1967 contains a linocut illustration of hot air balloons with a floating banner reading "Take Off With Books." Marcia Brown, the only triple Caldecott Medal winner, made the art for this poster.
