The Addison H. Smith papers (1917-1970; 1.6 cubic feet) includes many letters between 1917 and 1919 to Addison Smith's mother and his battlefield diary from 1918, which describes in vivid detail the voyage to Europe and his work as an ambulance driver in France. It also includes his certificates of discharge and service in the United States Army Ambulance Service, photographs, postcards, and newspaper clippings. The majority of the collection dates between the years of 1917 to 1922, and there are also newspaper clippings and legislation letters from the 1970s.

Betty White Loving chronicles her years as a teenager and student at Scottsville High School, and writes about events, names of people, and places she has visited.

Twenty-seven "climate capsule" journals created as part of the 2019 Spring semester English course "Climate Fiction" taught by Professor Mary Kuhn (2019; 0.6 cubic feet). The journals consist of weekly observations and reflections from either specific routes or locations at the University of Virginia and Charlottesville, along with comments on cultural pieces regarding climate issues. The climate capsule journals are sealed until 2030.

This collection consists of three published books and one notebook. The Moral philosophy notebook and Standard Masonic Monitor have been digitized by the library.

The DeWitt Clinton Gallaher scrapbook and diary transcript (1863-1925; 0.25 cubic feet) consists of a travel diary of New England and Europe (1869-1870), chronology of Civil War battles (October 1863- April 1865) and an album of newspaper clippings on general topics including the University of Virginia and Professor Basil Gildersleeve (1915-1925). The transcript of his travel diary contains vivid descriptions of his travels.
