The collection includes the diary of Alice Daphne Petty, a young woman living in Goochland, Virginia. The diary spans the years 1933 to 1934.

Four letters written by future Confederate Spy Antonia Ford. The letters were written to Ford's school friend Frances "Frankie" Carper. Two were written during Ford's terms at the Buckingham Female Collegiate Institute and two were written from her home in Fairfax, VA. The letters include details of her social life as well as her view on her boarding school experiences.

Diaries; 1922-1967, of Eleanor Wormley Perrin of "Goshen," Gloucester County, Va. These forty-five diaries span nearly a half century, from 1922 to 1967, and document life in 20th century Virginia. Perrin's diaries discuss local events, female social life, national events such as wars and politics, hurricanes, the death of family and friends, and other topics. Toward the end of Perrins's life her diary entries increase in length and intimateness, often expressing loneliness and reflecting upon the complexities of life.

The collection of the Faculty Women's Caucus at the College of William and Mary includes correspondence from 1973-1996 related to women faculty salaries and tenure; maternity leave and childcare; EEO and Affirmative Action; women's athletics, dealing mostly with Title IX, both within the College of William and Mary and the National Collegiate Athletics Association (NCAA); sexual harassment; campus security; the Women's Studies program; and discriminatory findings. Also included are salary survey reports, William and Mary climate studies, copies of the newsletter Caucus News, event fliers, articles, newspaper clippings, related publications, and other resource material.

Papers, 1736-1945, of and collected by Fairfax Harrison. Papers collected include colonial era documents, deeds, surveys, the diary of Sally Fairfax (1771-1772), legal papers, a copy of the Dettingen Parish (Prince William County, Va.) vestry book which contains minutes, indentures, and other (1745-1802), and photostat copy of the letterbook (1801) of Col. John Tayloe of Mount Airy, Va. Fairfax Harrison's papers include his correspondence with individuals and institutions concerning his interest in Virginia History. Prominent correspondents include John Stewart Bryan, David I. Bushnell, Worthington C. Ford, Douglas Southall Freeman, William G. Stanard, Clayton Torrence, Earl Gregg Swem, Lyon G. Tyler and Langbourne M. Williams. Subjects include Sir Edmund Andros,Francis Nicholson, Francis Fauquier, debtors' prisons, parish boundaries, Culpeper family, thoroughbred horses, county records, and the publishing of Harrison's works as well as the publishing of Robert Armistead Stewart's Index to Printed Virginia Genealogies and E. G. Swem's Virginia Historical Index. The collection also includes notes by Wilson Miles Cary concerning the Cary family and the books at "Carysbrook," Fluvanna County, Va.

Letter from H. R. Zirkle in Goshen, Indiana to Mary and Becca Henkel in New Market, Virginia dated December 23, 1850. In it Zirkle refers to being the girls' aunt and to their new baby cousin born within that year. She writes of wanting to visit and of her happiness that the girls will not be married off early like other families they know. The Henkel girls are related to the Henkel family of New Market, Virginia, and the Henkel Family Papers, 1783-1874, collection number Mss. 39.1 H 38.

A twelve page extended letter written by Jane Davis Syle while she was on a missionary voyage to China with her husband, Edward W. Syle. (Contains language that is derogatory towards the people of Asia and of Asian descent.)

Includes manuscripts of poetry written by Julia Selden Grandy who lived in Norfolk, Va. and Baltimore, Md. as well as short stories by Grandy; translations by Grandy of French poetry written by Stephen Mallarme (1842-1898); diaries kept while in school in New York and on trips to Paris and London; published books by Grandy; and scrapbooks. Includes a biography, poem and her obituary.

Oxrieder include materials related to Williamsburg, Virginia, documents of interest she collected related to her many interests, and personal material about her life and work in Williamsburg.
