Beulah O. Allen Collection, 2.1 Cubic Feet 2 boxes

The Beulah O. Allen Collection contains a variety of materials from Allen's life. Her papers contain correspondence with a variety of friends and associates, primarily Lucy Lee Lancaster, the first female graduate from Virginia Tech. In addition, the collection also contains Virginia Tech Commencement programs, Cotillion Club Dance programs, resources related to the Virginia Tech Library, newspaper clippings about the construction of the new Newman Library, and a large collection of photographs about the Town of Blacksburg and her friends and family.

This collection contains university diplomas for various people related to Virginia Tech, both alumni and faculty. This collection includes 16 Bachelors, Masters, and Doctorate degrees awarded between 1877 and 1964, with 15 from Virginia Tech. Diplomas are for William S. Adkisson, Katherine Sue Arrington, R.E.L. Aylor, John Poindexter Billingsley, William Mayo Brodie, J.M. Carrington, Calvert Lewis Estill, Howard Rucker Keister Jr., Howard Rucker Keister Sr., Harvey B. McDonald, Charles Preston Millard, Hugh Chapman Minton, Thomas Jefferson Rowe, Jr., George Carter Stone, and Pryor Lindsay Watts. There are also several blank diplomas for Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College from the 1880s or 1890s.

The collection includes papers from Frank L. Robeson's tenure as a student at Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College and Polytechnic Institute, Columbia University, and Johns Hopkins University, as well as subject and research files from his nearly 50 years as an instructor and professor at VPI, dating from 1899 to 1954.

The George Robert Sibold Collection consists of a hat and a button. The hat is navy blue with a black leather brim. Tied onto buttons right above the brim is red cord. The buttons holding the red cord are gold with the V.P.I. seal on them. Embroidered on the front of the hat are two crossing sticks and the letters "V" above them and "AMU" below them. The button is an oval shape with a maroon border and orange center. Maroon text on the button reads "VA. TECH." with two maroon lines under it. Written in pen on the lines is "G.R Sibold "98."

Ambler Johnston Papers pertains to his many activities throughout his professional and personal life, especially his involvement with the Civil War Round Table (CWRT) and Virginia Polytechnic Institute. Materials consist of correspondence, publications and ephemera, organizational and committee reports, and photographs, relating to Johnston's involvement with historical and civic organizations including the Sons of Confederate Veterans, Society of the Sons of the Revolution, Virginia Institute for Scientific Research, Association for the Preservation of Virginia Antiquites, and the Southern Historical Society and association with Douglas Southall Freeman and the VPI Alumni Association.
