The Lucie L. Gibboney Scrapbook contains dance cards, football programs, correspondence, dried flowers, ticket stubs, menus, photographs and other ephemera. Much of the materials relate to Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College and Polytechnic Institute (VPI) and the Town of Blacksburg, Virginia. Gibboney (1917-2007) probably collected these materials while visiting her future husband, James M. Graham, Jr. (1916-1976), a 1938 graduate of VPI, to document memories from their time together in the New River Valley.

Lucy Lee Lancaster Papers 44 Cubic Feet 44 boxes

Lancaster, Lucy Lee, 1905-1989
Lucy Lee Lancaster was born in Blacksburg, Virginia in 1905 and lived there until she died in 1989. She was one of the first women admitted to Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College and Polytechnic Institute (popularly known as VPI), and after graduating in 1925, she went on to earn her MLS from Columbia University Library School. She worked at the VPI library for the rest of her career. The Lancaster papers contain biographical materials, family papers, genealogy research, correspondence with family, friends, and business contacts, membership materials from local organizations, and travel memorabilia from her numerous national and international trips.

Feldenheimer, Melvin
Melvin Feldenheimer graduated from the Virginia Tech in 1944. Collection consists of materials from Feldenheimer's time as a cadet at Virginia Tech. Also included is a recording from a 1946 performance of Mel Felton and the Southern Colonels, a dance band lead by Feldenheimer during his time as a student and following World War II the band reunited and toured the south.

The collection contains eighteen photographs of exhibits and events around Virginia collected by Mildred Blokker (1919-1993) from about 1912-1919. The collection also includes photos of Cadets involved with the athletics department at Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College and Polytechnic Institute (VPI). Blokker graduated from and worked at VPI.
