Lancaster, Lucy Lee, 1905-1989
Lucy Lee Lancaster was born in Blacksburg, Virginia in 1905 and lived there until she died in 1989. She was one of the first women admitted to Virginia Agricultural and Mechanical College and Polytechnic Institute (popularly known as VPI), and after graduating in 1925, she went on to earn her MLS from Columbia University Library School. She worked at the VPI library for the rest of her career. The Lancaster papers contain biographical materials, family papers, genealogy research, correspondence with family, friends, and business contacts, membership materials from local organizations, and travel memorabilia from her numerous national and international trips.

Feldenheimer, Melvin
Melvin Feldenheimer graduated from the Virginia Tech in 1944. Collection consists of materials from Feldenheimer's time as a cadet at Virginia Tech. Also included is a recording from a 1946 performance of Mel Felton and the Southern Colonels, a dance band lead by Feldenheimer during his time as a student and following World War II the band reunited and toured the south.

The collection contains the papers--including correspondence, memoranda, subject files, and printed materials--of Orrin Rankin Magill, graduate of Virginia Polytechnic Institute (class of 1913), VPI professor of philosophy and religion, and active participant in civic and political affairs of Blacksburg and Montgomery County, Virginia. Materials document Magill's community activities, particularly as a member of the Montgomery County Board of Supervisors and the New River Valley Planning Commission.

Belz, Robert Armstrong
The collection contains the personal and academic papers of Robert A. Belz, a 1939 Virginia Tech alumni who graduated with a bachelors degree in industrial engineering. Materials range from 1869-1962, however, a majority of the works are from the 1930s-1940s or undated. Several oversized folders accompany the collection and hold technical drawings, newspapers, coupon bonds, posters, and his diploma. In addition to school work for math, business, humanities, and science courses, the collection also includes correspondence, clippings and ephemera, and a small group of photographs and cards.

Robert Baskerville Young, Jr. Family Collection, 1873/1975 0.2 Cubic Feet 1 box

The collection contains photographs taken of Robert Young, Jr. and Sr., along with other members of the Young family. Many photos focus on the military career of Robert, Jr., along with two letters that were written during his service. There are newspaper articles about Dr. Robert Young, Sr., about his involvement in different organizations. Also included is a Ledger written by George Baskerville, the grandfather of Robert, Sr., during his time attending VMI.

Roger L. Griffith Papers, 1952/2008 7 Cubic Feet 4 boxes

Roger L. Griffith (1934-2018) received his bachelors degree in chemical engineering from Virginia Tech. He worked for several small engineering firms, fifteen years for the Tennessee Valley Authority, and his own engineering firm in Alabama. The collection documents Griffith's career containing blueprints, academic papers, experiment results and data, documents from his work with different engineering firms, governmental reports, and documents relating to his work in foreign countries. The collection also contains a USB drive that has Roger Griffith's autobiography on it.
