This collection contains news clippings, correspondence, reports, and other material related to the "Dorm-In" protest by students in October 1969. The "Dorm-In" was to protest the current College regulations about how long women could stay in male dormitories after football games on Saturday. The students wanted to stay longer than the College regulations stated and 10 students were suspended for violating those rules. The bulk of the records come from the Ad Hoc Committee to Investigate the Dorm-In, a committee that Henry Coleman was a member of.

The letter is accompanied by a printed copy of the Flat Hat article, and a typed explanation written by Theobald detailing the backstory behind the ad and the letter. The two met in France, and Spurling encouraged Theobald to apply to William & Mary.

Fliers and logbooks from the student-run Meridian Coffeehouse at William & Mary. The fliers advertise events such as music shows, jam sessions, poetry readings, holiday parties, discussion groups, film screenings, creative performances, dance parties, and other events. Some specialized events include John Waters Eve, Divination Night, Alice in Wonderland Night, Body Painting and Drum Circle, the opportunity to star in "Greg's Greasy Lust Movie," fundraiser concerts, and "Infoshop" presentations on literature and activism. Party themes include Feminist, Spacedrugsrobots, Cross Dressing Cross Decade, and Black Valentines Day. Included is a print-out of an article from the Virginia Informer about a robbery at the Meridian in November 2009.

Much of the collection is material produced in response to President Nichol announcing his resignation with a smaller amount of material from the months preceding the announcement. The collection includes material from individuals and organizations who were opposed to President Nichol as well as those who supported him. This collection does not include official College of William and Mary records produced by various offices. Those records will generally be housed with the collections for the creating office or department. Exceptions include communications from the Board of Visitors to the campus community.
