Account book of Abraham Grove of Shenandoah, Virginia. He appears to be a woodworker with entries for making a wheelbarrow, a wagon, a rake and work done on houses. Also has entries for his own purchases. Index by first names included.

Concern farm labor and accounts as an administrator, executor (either by himself or in conjunction with others) or guardian of others which include members of the Stickley family. The volumes have unusual covers of patterned paper, and marbled paper. One cover is another book, "A Course of Book-keeping" used by William S. Newett, Pleasant Green Schoolhouse, Shenandoah County, Va. and one bears a label, Regensburg, Germany.

Papers, 1829-1912, including documents concerning the estates of David Stickley, John Cooley, Jacob Sonner, J. Funk, Henry R. Browning and William McCord which were handled by Col. Daniel Stickley.

Account book, 1831-1837 and 1844 of the brothers, John Swartz, Jr., Christian Swartz and Jacob Swartz of Shenandoah, Virginia. Most of the entries are accounts with customers for making or mending shoes, but it has other entries like wages for 'trashing wheat' and 'hauling wood' interspersed throughout the volume. Only one of the entries is for 1844.

Papers, 1814-1907, of the Lambert and Sheetz families of Augusta and Shenandoah counties. Include papers of Daniel H. Lambert, Staunton, Va. including his orders as a conscript in the Confederate Army in 1864 and his Oath of Allegiance to the United States in July 1865. Also include letters received by James and Joseph L. Sheetz, Woodstock, Shenandoah County and a single page extra newspaper issued by The Valley Virginian at the time of the riot, 3 November 1883,in Danville, Va.

Records circa 1820-1920 of a store in Shenandoah County, Virginia near Forestville run by the Moore and Kerlin families. This store consisted of a general merchandise store, a blacksmith shop, post office that ran 1841-1859, and a mill. Earlier ledgers suggest that the store was started by Adam Miller and later sold to the Moore family. The Moore and Kerlin families are connected through marriage. Records include store accounts of purchases and credits, receipts, broadsides, and publications related to voting and the Democratic party. The ledgers, in addition to store accounts, accounts of the blacksmith, and accounts of the lumber mill, have amusing doodles, evidence of someone practicing grammar, sentence diagramming, and penmanship, and various newspaper clippings and notes on such topics as soap making, snake bite and frostbite remedies and tips for successful farming. The publications include a pamphlet from the Democratic Committee of Shenandoah County referring to the race between Cleveland and Harrison, a notice of forfeiture from the W.B. Mutual Aid Society of Pennsylvania 1881, a summons from the state of Virginia, Le Grande's Arabian Catarrh Remedy Advertisement, Catalogue of Fruit 1860, Broadside for Bashaw horse race, Advertisement for Sheetz Brothers, Voter's Registration 1896, Castoria baby formula advertisement, Democratic Committee of Shenandoah County Minutes, Dupont Powder and Shells Advertisement, and an Arm and Hammer Soda Advertisement.

Account books, 1815-1860, of the New Shenandoah Company, Port Republic, Rockingham County, Va. which was organized to open the Shenandoah River and its branches to navigation. Includes loose papers and some correspondence concerning David Stickley and Daniel Stickley.
