This collection consists of photographs, memos, letters, pamphlets, maps, and other materials dating from 1917-1994 that relate to the George Washington National Forest, Dry River District. Most of the materials concern fire-fighting activities within the Forest, while others relate to the activities of the Civilian Conservation Corps and recreation within national forest lands.

Collection contains a single photograph album believed to have belonged to an unidentified sailor who served aboard the USS Oahu and the USS Heron. The album contains photographs documenting China, Philippines, Panama, and other locations during World War II. The original owner of the album is believed to have died on the USS Golet during World War II.

Includes Henry M. Vaiden's journal of horse pedigrees, crop records and accounts and a book of recipes. 49 items.

The Virginia Cooperative Extension Service Photographs, RG 26/2b, contains approximately 5,000 photographs of activities of the Agricultural Extension Service from 1937 thru 1966, primarily in the 1950s. Photographs depict 4-H activities, home demonstration work, food, breeding, field stations, gardening, poultry, dairy, and other subjects. The Extension Division, which was established in 1966, became the Virginia Cooperative Extension and Agricultural Experiment Station Division in 1995, often shortened to the Virginia Cooperative Extension (VCE).

This collection consists of photocopied documents and digital images dating from Wallace S. Douglas' service as a physician during World War II with the United States Army Medical Corps. Most items relate to the administration of hospitals in New Zealand and New Caledonia where men wounded in the Pacific Theater were treated.
