The collection consists of ten albums--about 950 lantern slide prints in total--on a variety of topics. Many photographs are of historical and Christian figures, while others range from architecture and engineering diagrams to landscapes and artwork.

Coray S. Brown family photograph collection

The Coray S. Brown family photograph collection ranges in date from 1875 to about 1960. The collection includes studio portraits and outdoor imagery of the Brown family, friends and acquaintances, groups and outdoor scenery from in and around the Lexington, Collierstown, Murat, North Buffalo, and Oxford Presbyterian Church communities in Rockbridge County. One of the highlights of the collection is Coray S. Brown's photo album which includes images from his time as a student at Washington and Lee University n 1910-1911. Outdoor scenes include the Collierstown Presbyterian Church, the Palmer High School, Virginia Military Institute cadets marching in Lexington, East Lexington and Jordan's Point. The album also documents his experience as medical staff in the 323rd Field Hospital unit of the U.S. Army's 81st Division during the First World War. Coray Swink Brown was the son of James Henry Brown and grandson of Andrew Jackson Brown both blacksmiths. His mother was Ellen H. Brown and his wife was Dorothy Reid Brown. Coray and Dorothy Brown's son, Thomas Deaver Brown, died in 1944 while serving in the 88th Division of the U.S. Army in Italy during WWII. The collection consists of a large assortment of photographic formats and sizes as well as photographic postcards. A majority of the loose images are not identified.

Evelyn and Viola Wolfe photograph albums (1920-1923; 1 cubic foot) consist of photographs of the sisters' three year trip around the world, two and a half years of which were spent in Japan. The photographs are beautifully arranged and labeled in albums that have a design of Japanese figures on the cloth covers. The photographs show the two sisters engaging with communities abroad and exploring historical sites, war memorials, and major tourist locations from Japan, China, Egypt, Israel,Italy, Switzerland, Germany, Belgium, France, Holland, Monte Carlo, England, Scotland, and Canada. Included is an American flag at half-mast for the death of President Harding. Some of the photographs in the albums have images of Great Britain's Royal Family including the Prince of Wales in 1922. There are also post cards, an obituary for Evelyn Wolfe, and a few letters.

This collection consists of documents and photographs held by the Gaillard brothers, Fredrick V. E. Gaillard and Charles C. Gaillard. The material pertaining to Charles C. Gaillard includes a letter written while at Reserve Officers' Training Corps (ROTC) training at Plattsburg Barracks, New York. Material relating to Fredrick V. E. Gaillard includes his cadet photograph album, approximately 12 original photographs dating from his service as commanding officer of the 377th infantry Regiment, and related World War II documents.
