Includes one letter from Cabell to Frank Daniel and one letter to Rawlings from Margaret Waller Freeman Cabell. Originals in Majorie Kinnan Rawlings Collection, Rare Book Section, University of Florida Libraries.

The collection contains mostly personal and business correspondence of Jay Winston Johns, Jr., including papers of the Atlas Fuel Corporation of New York, New York and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; Lee-Jackson Memorial, Inc.; the Virginia Trust for Historic Preservation; and "Ash Lawn," now owned by the College of William and Mary.

Genealogical material on the family of John Allan, stepfather of Edgar Allan Poe, of Richmond, Virginia, including typed copy of tombstone inscription of the John Allan gravesite, typescripts and photocopies of correspondence, 1795-1800, of Peachey Franklin, John C. Allan, Nancy Hunter, R. Crawford, and James Garland, and copies of letters, 1986-1987, concerning the genealogical material.

Manuscript copy of an Act passed by the General Assembly, October 27, 1748, relating to land titles. "At a General Assembly, ...held at the College in Williamsburg..."Includes the signature of Mary Hazzard and note that she has seen and heard the law. Also includes a copy of pages 408-09 and 426-431 from "The Statue a Large: Being a Collection of all the Laws of Virginia ...", by William Waller Hening (Richmond, 1819).

The collection includes the genealogical research of Linda Carol Friend Adams. It contains a number of state and county records, family documents, biographical information, emails, message board posts, research notes, and photographs that concern Adams' family history.

Photostatic copies (likely made circa 1965-1970) of letters written to Mollie M. Graves in Charles City Courthouse, who recently left Williamsburg, Virginia, from friends and relatives who reside in Williamsburg. The letters are addressed in care of Robert W. Graves.

The Mrs. John Miller Collection of New Market Documents, 1791-1873, consists of three items in one oversize folder. All of the items are photocopies. There is one 1791 plat of New Market, Virginia, an 1806 partial resurvey of Peter Palsel's 1785 plat of New Market by Jacob Rinker, and a 1873 map of New Market, platted by C.K. Urner, by order of the Board of Trustees. The plats also include descriptions of the layout of the town, as well as a brief history about Peter Palsel.
