Copied from the 1755 original, includes historical notes and 3 distance tables. It also locates hundreds of European and Native American settlements and depicts networks of roads and trails. Includes notations for Dartmouth College, the location of 'elephant bones', salt and limestone deposits, petroleum in western Pennsylvania, and coal in Ohio.

A Historical Map of Virginia. GHQ Committee of the Kappa Alpha order 0.1 Cubic Feet 10 x 15 in.

Map comes from a convention held by the Kappa Alpha Alumni Foundation, and it shows locations of historical interest, especially Jamestown, Yorktown, and various battlefields. Reverse of map contains photographs of historical monuments and locations, as well as a description of the convention.

The map displayed here is an unrecorded version of a German broadside known only at the Library of Congress. This state is unique in that it was sold by a different person, and there are differences in the text portion of the broadside. It is a variant state of LC Maps of North America, 1750-1789, 142.
