Abstract Or Scope

Mecklenburg County (Va.) Report of commissioners appointed to lay off county into townships, 1870, gives the township names and boundaries. Also included in the report is the location of the voting place for each township. Townships include Clarksville, Palmer's Springs, Boydton, Bluestone, Christiansville, Buckhorn, Flat Creek, and South Hill. The commissioners were Harriss, Puryear, Mason and Haines. The report was admitted to the record by the clerk of court on 1870 April 24.
