This collection contains a photograph album depicting a wide range of hunting experiences in the environs of rural Culpepper County, Virginia at the turn of the century. The album contains ninety uncaptioned, mounted photos of hunting scenes including bagged game such as quail, foxes, turkeys, and deer, usually depicted with hunters and hunting dogs. There are photographs of hunters in groups from one to a half dozen, posed in the woods, with shotguns, or posed with guns and dogs. Several pictures include local African American families and guides. The photographs also feature typical southern rural life style and architecture, a variety of landscapes, the Culpeper railroad depot, and Culpeper's Waverley House hotel.

This collection contains an anonymous hunting diary with entries dating from 1932 to 1938. The book, "Gee's Hunting Diary, to Record the Sport of the Season Arranged for the Followers of Foxhounds and Harriers" was printed by Ernest R. Gee at his book and print shop. The book has detailed fields to record elements of the users' hunts including ruled diary for recording details of hunts such as date, hounds, huntsman, the meet, horses, fox, hare, covers drawn, found, wind, weather, scent, accounted forobservations. The book has no mark of ownership and includes thirty-one leaves, of which twenty-five contain entries and six are blank. On the last page: "Printed by Eugene V. Connett at The Derrydale Press." The last entry has a small hand-drawn map of the hunting area being described. Possible hunting locations noted in the book include the Elkridge-Hartford Hunt Club in Maryland. A clipping, pinned to one page, contains an account of the United Hunt in Ireland. Entries in August 1936 include notes on cubbing, which was the practice of hunting young foxes, especially for training hounds.

14 bound ledgers and day books written by George E. Waltrip for the years, 1890, 1895, 1898, 1901, 1906, 1908, 1917, 1923-1924, 1929, 1932-1934. Waltrip was a resident of Williamsburg in James City County when he wrote in his books. The books give an account of the weather, hunting, travel to local areas, including Richmond, and also of the overall dealings of a farmer, merchant, and fisherman from the Williamsburg area.
