Papers of and collected by Maben Jones, a genealogist from Columbia, S.C. Includes Jones' genealogical notes, correspondence, and research papers, including photocopied correspondence, legal papers, and other primary source material concerning the Jones family, Flippen family, LeGrand family, Dibrell family, Walker family, Walton family, Scott family, Woodson family and West family. Most of the families that Jones was interested in were from Buckingham County, Va.

This collection contains three copies of a photo album created via the Snapfish service presumably by members of the Madeley family. Album contains genealogy of the Madeley family as respresented through reproduced family photographs.

The Manuscript by Jane Reid Venable: "Book of Record of the Reids and Alexanders and Others," undated, contains a manuscript that Jane Reid Venable was working on, documenting the family lineage and basic history of some of the prominent families in Prince Edward County. Not included in the collection are listed dates of the creation of the manuscript or sources/background information on how the information was obtained.

The correspondence contains one letter from Judge M.H. Dent to his son, Herbert W., on his twenty-first birthday, and one letter from Mary Dent Grinnan commenting on M.H. Dent. The newspaper clippings are a tribute to Judge Dent by Judge Henry Brannon, 1909, and an article on the death of Carrie Dent Armstrong, daughter of Judge Dent. The pictures are of Judge Dent, his wife and children; Robert A. Armstrong; Marmaduke Dent, and Will R.D. Dent.
