The papers and notes of a genealogist compiling information and copies of documents about families of Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and West Virginia. There are major holdings on the Forby/Furbee family, Nutter family, and Pepper family as well as holdings on collateral families. Collateral families include Selby, Craig, Heatherad, Sturman, Lowber, Youlle, Earle, Johnson, Piper, Manlove, Watts, Parker, Purnell, Curtis, Fooks, Osborn, Wharton, Aydelott/Aydelotte, Sturgis, Robinson, Richardson and Parramore.

Papers of a Huntington attorney, member of the West Virginia National Guard, 1909-1916, employee of the C&O Railway Company, president of the Union Bank and Trust Company of Huntington, president of the Ben Lomond Company, president of the Blackberry, Kentucky and West Virginia Coal and Coke Company, attorney for Central City, prosecuting attorney of Cabell County, 1905-1908, chairman of a county Democratic committee, and delegate to the Democratic National Convention, 1912. Wallace served in the Spanish-American War and as judge advocate general in West Virginia during the coal strike in 1912-1913. During World War I he was a state draft executive, a major in the judge advocate general corps in Washington, and a lieutenant colonel in France. Subjects include the influenza epidemic of 1918, the depression of 1929-1932, state and national politics, and genealogy of the Wallace and allied families. The collection also includes three typescripts, "Runnymede Receipts,"Train Running for the Confederacy," and "Norborne Parish and St. George's Chapel," by Philip P. Gibson; Civil War data; an account of the taking of San Juan Hill in 1898; a military diary; a scrapbook of Cabell County court records; a speech against the League of Nations; and notes on a trip to Nice, circa 1919.

Genealogy research material of Georgia Catharine Price (1867-1954, born in Monongalia County, West Virginia), granddaughter of West Virginia legislator William Price (1803-1881), and Earl L. Core. Includes typescript and original correspondence, genealogies, facsimiles of legal documents, and other material, mostly relating to the genealogy of various families, including Core, Haught, Price, and Tennant. Prominent locations include Greene County and Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, and Monongalia County and Marion County, West Virginia. Much of the genealogical research seems to have been done for the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR). For folder-level contents, see scope and content note.

Genealogy of the Stephens and Smith families, primarily covering the 18th to 21st centuries. The families are related through the 1899 marriage of Ora Mae Smith to Leaman Clark Stephens in Ritchie County, West Virginia. Transcript copy of "The Descendants of William Gould of Pomfret Town and West Springfield," a narrative history of the William Gould family of New York and Pennsylvania from the 1740s to the 1930s, written by Henry Wadsworth Gould in 1931 and 1932. Includes birth, marriage, and death dates as well as information about family farms and homesteads.
