Papers, chiefly 1834-1863, of Thomas W. Thomas, soldier, lawyer, and judge of Elberton, GA concerning his law practice and his friendship with US Senator Robert Toombs. His papers primarily concern his various legal cases, but also discuss politics, the Civil War, and other topics sporadically. Included in the collection are papers, 1834-1864, of Drury B. Cade who operated a canal boat on the Savannah River. Items of special interest include letter, 3 April 1842, from John Reeves Jones Daniel attacking the Whigs; letter, 1849, to Zachary Taylor concerning liquor seized during the Mexican War; letter, 1857, concerning a suit to secure title to land originally granted to Eli Whitney; and there are a number of Civil War letters in the collection.

Papers, 1840-1892, of the Buford family of Bedford County, Va., consisting of letters, mostly addressed to Capt. Paschal Buford (1791-1875). Other correspondents include his wife Frances Ann Otey Buford and his daughter Maggie (Margaret Letitia) Buford. Some letters to Paschal Buford were written by his daughter Bettie (Mildred Elizabeth) and her husband Edward C. Burks. Also includes financial records, wedding invitations, records relating to horse breeding and a note book, circa 1880.The following description was provided by the seller:"The letters are talking about travel, deaths, politics, some talk about the good and bad of having servants. Letter, 1845, from Edward Burks to Captain Buford notifying him that he is engaged to his daughter and asking about Buford's wishes and opinion in relation to it. Western Union Telegraph letting Mrs. T. N. Cobbs (Margaret Letitia Buford Cobbs) know that her husband, Captain Thomas N. Cobbes has died. 2 Wedding Invitations for the children of Captain Buford from the 1860s. Several letters and items dealing with Paschal Buford's raising of prize horses, mainly about the pedigree of a horse named Red Robin from the early 1870s, also about Knight of St George, Trustee and other horses."

The Campbell Family Papers is a collection of business records, personal documents and photographs belonging to the Campbell and Sampson families of Albemarle County, Virginia dating from 1795 to 1945. The great majority of the documents are the business records of Joseph Watson Campbell (1795-1875). These include tax bills and receipts, accounts between Campbell and various merchants, receipts for goods and services received and rendered, promissory notes and papers relating to other family matters including the execution of the estate of Campbell's father-in-law, John Rogers and the practice of slavery. The collection includes personal correspondence between the children and grandchildren of the Sampson family. Photographs, mostly unidentified, are among the documents included. The remaining documents are those pertaining to his children and grandchildren.

Papers of Charles D. Tibbetts who died in Phoebus, Virginia in 1924 at the age of 94 or 96. The collection includes a few financial and personal documents and personal correspondence, but it is mostly correspondence between people involved with Tibbetts' inheritance. Tibbetts enlisted in the army in Richmond, Virginia when he was 17 years old and fought in the Mexican War. Genealogy of the Tibbetts, Stover and Cunningham families are partially shown in the letters searching for heirs.

Ledger, 1838-1852 and financial records, 1828 to circa 1853 of the Graham family of Bath County, Virginia. The ledger contains entries concerning the threshing and delivery of wheat, oats, and rye. The inner leather cover of the ledger records deaths in the Graham family for the years 1837-1848. Family members listed include Christopher Graham, Jane Graham, A. Graham, and G. Graham. The collection also contains 51 other documents, mainly notes and receipts dealing with Thomas Graham. These documents, dating mainly from 1828 to 1853, deal with topics such as threshing wheat, dressing sheep skins, and making shoes. Other items of interest include a receipt for tickets sent to Richmond, a note including samples of sand paper, and the 1894 will of Elizabeth Graham. In her will, Elizabeth Graham bequeaths items to a number of her sons and daughters, including John Graham, Mary Bradshaw, Franklin P. Graham, Samantha Ann Hicklin, George Graham, David Graham, William Roft Graham, Elizabeth Hamilton, Archie Graham, and Charlie Henry Graham.
