Abstract Or Scope
The North Central Association of Colleges and Secondary encourages cooperative relationships among colleges and universities, examines the quality of higher education, and accredits higher-learning organizations. Collection consists of 1964 reports from the association's Commission on Colleges and Universities (now the Higher Learning Commission) for West Virginia University (WVU) in Morgantown, West Virginia, and Potomac State College, a two-year residential division of WVU, in Keyser, West Virginia. Reports examine the institutions' governing board, service area, resources, academic programs, student services, faculty services, and library and provide a brief summary and comments. The report for WVU is twenty pages; the report for Potomac State is seven pages.

Unedited video recording, on DVD and original digital footage, of the West Virginia Day Program presented by the West Virginia University (WVU) Libraries' West Virginia & Regional History Center on June 20, 2014. The program, titled "Celebrating Two Hundred Years of Education in Morgantown," included three speakers, all WVU faculty: Dr. Barbara J. Howe, Dr. Lillian J. Waugh, and Dr. Connie P. Rice. The speakers were introduced by Dr. John Cuthbert, Director and Curator of the West Virginia & Regional History Center. The video is 1 hour, 52 minutes, 30 seconds long; after 1 hour and 46 minutes, the audio ceases.

Data in fulfillment of a Master's degree pursued in political science by Mary A. Feldmeier. This reel consists of three parts: Part 1 - Letters to and from state colleges and universities in WV detailing the assumed entry level knowledge of students in introductory economics, political science and sociology courses as well as the high school educational background in such subjects as perceived by college faculty. Part 2 - WVU student questionnaire responses which verify dramatically faculty perceptions with most students rating high school courses in these subjects as being very poorly taught. Part 3 - A checklist of WV high schools as to course requirements in these fields for graduating students, texts utilized in courses, and special aids used in class such as periodicals, films, and maps.
