This collection primarily concerns Clara Louise Walde Lawrence's career as a nurse in the period before, during, and after World War I. Materials in the collection include correspondence, scrapbooks, diaries, photographs and negatives, pamphlets, medical supplies, and other publications. Most of the correspondence, photographs, and publications relate to either WWI or nursing. Notable correspondents include a letter from Julia Cherney (Bateman) to Clara Walde while serving as a missionary in China. Other items of interest include a 1763 Boston Gazette as well as several 19th century American newspapers. The collection also includes Lawrence's Veterans Administration account books from the 1930s.

Diaries, 1846-1861, of an unidentified woman of Lakeville, Livingston County in New York State. Other place names mentioned most frequently: East Avon, Albion and Lima and Lakeville Rd. in Avon. The writers mentions the last names of her relatives as Stevens, Jones and Hicks. She also has a sister named Nancy and a brother Charles.

This collection documents the Dotson family of Greenwood, West Virginia in Doddridge County. It contains Nancy Clark Dotson's diaries from 1904-1946 (including photocopies, indices, and supplementary information), other Dotson family diaries and books, the marriage certificate of Franklin and Nancy Clark Dotson, a Dotson family history, a cabinet card and carte de visite album, a tintype album, a collection of glass plate negatives, and other assorted photographs.

Tabb's papers discuss life at 'Auburn,' their estate in Mathews County, including topics of hunting, female social life, detailed descriptions of the estate, servants, Tabb's wealth, and other topics. Includes clippings about the Auburn House. Also includes papers and correspondence (1947-1949) concerning genealogy done on the Tabb family.

Includes ledger, 1790- 1794, of John Edmonds, Sr. kept near Quantico and Dumfries, Prince William County, Va.; commission, 1809 February 23, of Elias Edmonds signed by Thomas Jefferson; letter, 1844 April 22, of John F. Edmonds, Macon County, Mo. to his father Elias Edmonds, Upperville, Va.; and diary, 1870-1871, of Joseph Addison Edmonds of Lexington, Mo. kept on a trip to Texas.

Subjects include Sir Edmund Andros,Francis Nicholson, Francis Fauquier, debtors' prisons, parish boundaries, Culpeper family, thoroughbred horses, county records, and the publishing of Harrison's works as well as the publishing of Robert Armistead Stewart's Index to Printed Virginia Genealogies and E. G. Swem's Virginia Historical Index. The collection also includes notes by Wilson Miles Cary concerning the Cary family and the books at "Carysbrook," Fluvanna County, Va.

This collection includes 54 miscellaneous letters, 1821-1866; diaries and financial records McFarland kept while he was a missionary and during his two pastorates, 1823-1836, and 1841-1871, at Bethel Presbyterian Church, Augusta County, Va.; lecture notes taken while a student at Princeton University; and printed biographical sketches and engravings of McFarland.Correspondents include Stonewall Jackson, George Junkin, William Spottswood.
