Hughes regarding a tribute from the faculty), 1881 May 17 Report of Scholarship and Attendance for Floyd Hughes, 1877 Feb. 1 Resolution from the Faculty at the College of William and Mary conferring the degree of Doctor of Laws on the Honorable Robert W. Hughes, U. S. Judge of the Eastern District of Virginia. Signed by W. G. Jones, Secretary and Benjamin S. Ewell, President. Affixed to the resolution is the Temple Seal, which includes the phoenix but not the Latin wording.
