This collection consists of three bound scrapbooks and a set of folios of photographs taken by Raymond J. Kirby. The scrapbooks contain photographs and newspaper clippings related to the historic flooding in Rockbridge and Nelson counties in Virginia as a result of Hurricane Camille in August 1969. The majority of the photographs document damage in and around Rockbridge County with some Nelson county, Lexington, and Buena Vista scenes. This collection also includes approximately 170 photographs pasted into folios comprehensively documenting the construction of the Route 11 bypass around Lexington, Virginia on the south and eastern side of the town between 1953 and 1956.

Includes graded papers, clippings, and correspondence with Washington and Lee University professors during Mudd's college years. Also includes speeches given for commencements, press/broadcasting associations, emcee roles, and acceptance of awards and honors. Includes correspondence with J. Stewart Bryan III, John Updike, Sandra Day O'Connor, Walter Cronkite and Dan Rather. Includes scripts from Mudd's years at the Richmond News Leader, CBS radio and television, NBC, PBS, and THC (History Channel) television. Includes VHS tapes of commencement addresses, clips from CBS, NBC, THC and PBS (MacNeil/Lehrer News Hour), personal appearances and professionally produced tapes narrated by Mudd. Especially notable are the video series entitled Great Minds in American History, Learning in America, Inside the Presidency, and Making History with Roger Mudd. Some of the clippings and tapes were used for Mudd's journalism classes at Princeton University and Washington and Lee University. Collection also includes day by day coverage of the U. S. Congressional journey of the 1964 Civil Rights legislation.

This collection includes miscellaneous articles on a variety of literary topics. It also includes approximately 25 items from Pusey's wartime duty in Germany in 1945, including eight photographs of Admiral Dönitz's surrender. Additionally, there is a typescript by Pusey entitled Theater in Staunton, Va, 1875-1912.Also contains a signed typescript of his book History of the theater in Staunton, Virginia, known as Grange Hall, the Opera House (1879) and the Beverly Theatre (1905-), from 1875-1912. Chronicles performances (ca. 700) of drama, musical comedy, minstrel shows, vaudeville, and melodrama. Includes names of major actors and playwrights of the shows, such as Warren L. Olivier, Lillie Langtry, Fanny Janauschek, Emma Abbott, Thomas W. Keene, Sol S. Russell, Frank Chanfrau, Otis Skinner, Helena Modjeska, Julia Marlowe, and De Wolf Hopper, and the critical reaction to the performances by Staunton newspapers.
