Diary, 1912-1913, of August Sommer a Lutheran minister of Niagara Falls, New York. Primarily concerns his ministry, his studies at Concordia Seminary in Illinois, beer, his contraction of typhoid fever and its treatment, and his teaching of school. There is also information about his daily activities, including people with whom he meets.

This collection contains three ledgers: Leonidas Willson Irwin's spiritual diary, 1887-1937; D.C. Irwin's pastor's register, 1869-c.1881; D.C. Irwin's account book, 1895-96.

This collection includes 54 miscellaneous letters, 1821-1866; diaries and financial records McFarland kept while he was a missionary and during his two pastorates, 1823-1836, and 1841-1871, at Bethel Presbyterian Church, Augusta County, Va.; lecture notes taken while a student at Princeton University; and printed biographical sketches and engravings of McFarland.Correspondents include Stonewall Jackson, George Junkin, William Spottswood.

Diary, 1851, of George W. Chesbrough, a Methodist minister from Niagara County, New York. Concerns Chesbrough's teaching of sabbath school, preaching, and attendence at religious conferences along the Lake Erie coast. Also details the people with whom he met, primarily other ministers, Bible passages upon which he wrote sermons, and the chores he did.

The diaries give a precise record of Joseph James Murray's four years as superintendent of home missions in Wilmington, North Carolina, as well as of his life as pastor, family man, traveller, lover of the arts and ornithologist while in Lexington, Virginia (1924-1968). Reminiscences include information about his family, including his wife, Jane Dickson Vardell Murray, and children, J. J. (Jimmy) Murray, Jr. and Jane Murray, and close friends, including Matthew Paxton, Nell Paxton, James G. Leyburn, and Mary Monroe Penick. The diaries also contain information about Frank Price, a missionary to China for fifty years who was sponsored by the Lexington Presbyterian Church. The collection also includes a notebook of birding notes by Southgate Y. Hoyt from 1934-1938.

Travel diary, possibly revised as a book manuscript, by Reverend Martin S. Howard of Wilbraham, Massachusetts. The exact dates are not noted, but the late 1870s to early or mid-1880s seems a likely time frame. The diary is titled "A Bee line through Gt. Britain" and subsequent parts have the following headings: Edinburgh, Dublin, Killarney, Lakes of Killarney, Across the Irish Sea, London, Thirty days in France and Italy, Paris, Dijon, Florence, Rome, Venice, Milan, Tramps and Drives and Switzerland.
