Boone County, West Virginia, Baptist Church records, including meeting book of Lowgap Baptist Church 1866, 1888; certificates of good standing in the Old School Baptist Church, 1873, and in the Baptist Church at Holly Creek, 1869, and an article of agreement concerning protection of property, Boone County, 27 March 1869.

This collection consists of 166 rubbings of monumental brasses made by Bernie Brenner from 1974 through the 1980s in England. The collection also contains pamphlets and booklets from the parish churches that Brenner visited - and that the brasses originate from - as well as bulletins from the Monumental Brass Society.

Records include minutes, 1804-1820, 1854, a manuscript hymn book, and correspondence, 1803-1809, of a Summers County church; and the minutes of the Greenbrier (Baptist) Association, 1807-1811.

Typescripts compiled by a Wellsburg local historian, on the history of Holliday's Cove and the Hancock-Brooke County area. Subjects include prominent settlers, churches, schools, post office, toll roads, oil and gas wells, floods, gristmills, manufacture of gunpowder, iron and brick industries, newspapers, Indians, and the James Campbell and Alexander Morrow family genealogy.

The records of a German Reformed Church consisting of a constitution, minutes, treasury records and a list of baptisms, marriages, confirmations, and membership. Original founders of the church were pioneer German emigrants subsequently all records up to 1808 are completely in German.

Manuscript diary of David R. Preston, Presbyterian minister and missionary assigned to Pensacola, Florida, and St. Charles, Missouri, 1828-1829, containing information on the number of missionaries and regularly assigned ministers of the Presbyterian, Methodist, and Episcopal churches in the areas, the number of church services held, attendance and interest of the congregations, organization of Bible classes, and Sunday schools. Preston also preached to black congregations and comments on their attendance and attitude. There is comment on the Roman Catholic Church, its activities, means to combat its influence, and its social and business life. Preston also held services in the Escambia River area of Alabama. Names of people living in the areas are given as well as descriptions of land and business enterprises, and opinions concerning future settlement and economic development. The names of U.S. Navy ships in the Pensacola harbor are mentioned with comments on the officers, condition of the ships, and discipline maintained. Conditions and cost of travel by stage and boat are commented on with accounts of Preston's journeys from Philadelphia to Pensacola, and from Pensacola to St. Charles.

The boyhood memoirs of an elderly Monongalia County resident, entitled, "Our Daily Bread" relating rural life in the early years of the twentieth century. There is mention of home remedies, farming, country stores, school, church, holidays, transportation and folkways. He describes in detail seeing the first automobile in the western part of the county. Also contains some genealogical notes on William White and family, White is the surveyor who named that portion of the county, Battelle District.
