The records document the Experiment Station's work researching injuries to crops, problems with poultry and livestock, soil and fertilizer, etc. Series include:

Abstract Or Scope

Twenty glass plate negatives (with one print) of West Virginia University College of Agriculture activities, created circa 1890-1910. Subjects include chicken houses, Kanawha orchard, butter making, students in class, tufted titmouse in basket on tree, drove of cattle, vineyard at French Creek, dairy machinery, female canners, Dr. John A. Myers and Hopkins at their desks, Professor F. W. Rane teaching, Prof. L. William Rane in the horticulturalist room, John Alva Myers, milk weighing, Hite and Givay in the Chemical Lab, an apple tree in Hancock County, Hopkins in the forest, a chicken house, and the prior Biological Lab. The first box in the collection contains glass plate negatives while the second contains the original sleeves for the negatives and identifying information, where present. Digital scans are available.

Abstract Or Scope

Slides from the old Agricultural Science Building. Some of the presentations came from the Dorsey Resource Center, built at the Jackson's Mill Extension in 1978. Slides include informational presentations about various topics, primarily either educational materials or College programming. Educational materials are primarily presentations on the proper use and maintenance of various equipment, agricultural techniques, and laws/protocols. Slides on College programming and groups are largely unidentified, but include Programming in the Village of P, and the FFA (Future Farmers of America). There may also be some materials from the home economics program, such as a presentation titled "Home Safety: Home Design and Decoration." Slide presentations 6, 9, 12, 16, 17, 23, and 24 have an accompanying cassette, presentations 6, 12, 14, 16, 17, 25, 26, and 32 have papers (primarily scripts, but some include other informational materials), and presentation 25 has a film.
