This collection contains minutes, constitutions and by-laws, official correspondence, treasurer's books, financial records, library records, and copies of the society's literary magazine.

Typescript copies from records of the Kingwood Methodist Church; articles on the Judy, Cuppy, Cuppett, and Guseman families; a copy of John Fairfax's will, 1843; minutes of a meeting of the board of education, Reno School District, Preston County, 1880; a letter from Senator J.P. Dolliver; letter from John Scott to James H. Carroll, Richmond, 20 February 1840, concerning a bill to permit construction of a road from German Settlement through Kingwood to Morgantown; and an account book, 1862-1871, of Samson W. Smalley, a carpenter and contractor from Oakland, Maryland.

This collection contains a few printed pieces on the history and happenings of both Grace and R.E. Lee Memorial Episcopal churches. It also includes an account book, kept by C.M. Figgat, who was the church's treasurer.

This collection consists of approximately 1,400 total items including approximately 550 letters from 1944 to 1955 between John Patrick Rembert and his wife Sarafan, as well as other correspondence regarding homelife and the military and World War II. Also included in this collection are photo albums and loose photographs, including many portraits of John Patrick Rembert and Sarafan Rembert, relatives of the Remberts, friends and family and the Rembert's travels. There are several 8x10 official Naval photographs of the Remberts and Naval parties and dinners, as well as eight 8x10 photographs of the 1968 Washington D.C. "Negroe Integration Riots." The collection also includes many pieces of ephemera, including many certificates including a 1921 Masonic certificate of the 32nd Degree, cards, and drawings, as well as a collection of John Patrick Rembert's Naval buttons.

The Renick Family papers include farm account books, newspaper clippings, obituaries, genealogical materials, photographs, correspondence, and artificats documenting the lives of the Renick Family. Family members documented include Dewey Campbell Renick, Fern Cooley Renick, Jean Renick, and Dewey C. Renick Jr.

Papers, 1800-1901, of and relating to John Hipkins and John Hipkins Bernard (mostly accounts); of and relating to members of the Hipkins, Bernard and Robb families; and relating to the Hipkins-Bernard-Robb home "Rose Hill," Caroline County, Va. (later renamed "Gay Mont") and to Bernard's lands in Alabama, Texas and Arkansas. Includes diaries, correspondence, poems, accounts and account books of women (Elizabeth Hipkins, Jane Gay Robertson Bernard, and Helen Struan Bernard Robb); and legal documents and letters of John Taylor of Caroline. Of special interest are the diaries of Eugenia D. Robb while serving with the American Red Cross in Germany and Japan during and after World War II (1999.56A).

Correspondence, personal accounts, 7 ledgers, and legal papers, 1869-1912, of Robert S. Campbell, sheriff of Fluvanna County, Va. Includes materials on raising cattle, travel, the duties of a sheriff, and material relative to Fluvanna County. One of the ledgers is 502 pages in length and contains numerous correspondence loosely tucked inside the volume.
