Meek, dated Canton 11 December 1854. 4pp. "Dear Sister Anna" "We all supposed he was taking ague but he said he felt differently. Platt administered a dose blue pills that night and the next night but still he grew worse on Saturday sent for a Dr. and would you believe he took it in his head to have a homeopathic who dosed him out his little sugar plums until Monday morning his fever gaining all the while.
