Welsh Miners
- Scope and content:
-
These are research materials utilized and created by Dr. Lewis in his study of Welsh immigrants working in the U.S. mining industry and the broader history of British Isles emigration in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Scholarly articles, Dr. Lewis's notes, and copies of primary source documents like census data and mining reports are included in this subseries. Some additional research files exist as digital materials. The dates for this subseries reflect the content– not material creation. For most files, the content dates were determined by the donor and written beside his folder titles. Please be aware that the dates may not be accurate for every item within a folder but rather reflect the general timeframe of the subject matter.
