It is very cold in the house today; Marcia and her husband left for Texas, but they have not yet written to say that they have arrived; wrote to Mrs. Collerson [?]; Turner has been ill, but is now better; the girls [Jane and Mary] are visiting in Charlotte Co[unty]; her [AM] nephew-in-law [Nan's husband, Lewis?] is staying with Rob[er]t and is almost rid of the Rheumatics; the boys are doing well with their lessons, though Charley cannot read yet; the shoes [the she sent?] fit very well and are useful; sends regards to all, especially to Harriet. 1p.
