Olympic Teddy Bear, 1979/1980

A brown teddy bear with black felt fingers and toes. The teddy bear has brown plastic eyes and a black sewn on smile. The teddy bear has on a white shirt that features the Olympics logo in gold with sparkles and the colors of the Olympics logo (blue, yellow, green, and red) in stripes branching out from the Olympics logo. The teddy bear has a white unifold tag attached to it with a cartoon image of the bear on one side and copy write information on the other. Inside the tag is typed "MISHA™ IS THE OFFICIAL MASCOT OF THE 1980 MOSCOW OLYMPIC GAMES. A PORTION OF THE PURCHASE PRICE OF MISHA™ GOES TO THE SUPPORT OF YOUR COUNTRY'S OLYMPIC COMMITTEE. ALL NEW MATERIALS • HAND-CRAFTED• NON-ALLERGENIC• SURFACE WASHABLE." The inside of the tag goes on to describe how to clean the teddy bear and explains that it meets state and federal safety regulations. There is a white tag with red writing on it coming out of the teddy bear's rear that explains the aforementioned information. The teddy bear was designed by Victor Chizhikov.The teddy bear is in excellent condition and measures approximately 10.5in. (height). Gift of Rene A. Henry. UA 2010.193.05
