One United States Flag with 48 stars that came to America on the casket of Corporal Ernest J. Lewis, who attended the College of William and Mary from 1913-1914. Corporal Lewis was killed in 1918 during World War I. He was a member of Company B, 116th Infantry from Virginia. There is a lock and a key on the top and bottom right-hand side of the flag. The lock is engraved with "MILLER" in the middle. The lock and key are both attached to the flag with paperclips. A small index card is also attached to the flag with "Corporal Ernest J. Lewis, Company B. 116th Infantry." The flag is approximately 9ft. 10 1/2in. x 3ft. 4in. It is in fair condition with a few very small holes. Located in Textiles S1 SS5. UA 2009.380
