College Seal Sterling Silver Ring (UA 2011.498.01)

Scope and content:

One sterling silver ring with translucent plastic oval inset and silver seal of the College. Plastic inset secured with four silver prongs to a decorated setting with incised triangles and lines in a vaguely art deco design. Underside of setting is decorated with an incised curvilinear pattern. Plastic inset and seal are secured with a slotted screw. Thin metal band soldered to ring underside and stamped with 'STERLING.' Ring setting measures .875in. (length) x .625in. (width), and overall length (setting and band) measures .9375in. Ring was given as a favor at a dance hosted by Richmond Polytechnic Institute. Donation of Jean Clarke, Class of 1947; transferred from Alumni Association.
