April 26, 1775 note to W. Robert Miller from J.M. for the surveyor of Botetourt County regarding fees for 1773 that will soon be settled. Other names mentioned are Aaron Smith and Samuel Lewis, Surveyor.

Bond between William Preston and John Donelson of the County of Augusta and Pittsylvania and William & Mary for one hundred pounds sterling to secure that William Preson is "intended to be constituted and appointed...to be surveyor of Botetourt County, dated November 1, 1769. Signed, by Hugh Nelson, Nathaniel Burwell, William Preston and John Donelson.
