Tracing of Benjamin Bucktrout's Map of the City of Williamsburg, VA
Inscribed - "A copy of a very old map of the City of Williamsburg, Va. Supposed to have been originally made in the latter part of the 18th century about 1780. The original apparently very old & broken drawn on parchment was found in the attic of the Ro Saunders house after the war & was given to R. T. Armistead by C. C Dixon. There is a map made in Aug 1800 by Benj Bucktrout in the possession of Sydney Smith supposed to be a copy of said [map of?] this copy made July 1892 […]"
