Domino Set

Scope and content:

Antebellum domino set with 28 dominoes stored in a wooden box. Twenty-six dominoes are handmade out of bone and ebony wood. They are held together with double brass flat pins. Two wood dominos are replacements and are painted to match the set. The wooden box is the set's original container. The wooden box measures about 7 1/2 in. (length) x 2 1/2 in. (width) x 2 1/2 in. (height). Dominoes measure about 2' in. (length) x 1 in. (width). Dominoes are in fair condition with small fractures and chips throughout, and a number of the dominoes are slightly separate (wood from the bone). Box is in fair condition with a damaged lid, which was previously repaired with glue. Image available at http://www.flickr.com/photos/scrc/8559638055/. Swem SCRC Purchase. Located in EDU Wood.
