RISM questions the attribution of this set to Alberto Gallo, presumably on the grounds that it may be by Domenico Gallo, another composer of trio sonatas. Le Clerc, however, published Alberto Gallo's opera 1 and 2, and no works by Domenico Gallo. The attribution to Alberto Gallo thus seems the more likely of the two.
