1938 October 6 Booth Tarkington to "Dear Warrack," [Warrack Wallace?] reviews the history of events in Europe from 1918 leading up to the rise of Hitler in Germany and the current status of the Treaty of Versailles. They were apparently discussing the repercussions of the Munich Agreement signed by Adolf Hitler, Neville Chamberlain, Edouard Daladier, and Benito Mussolini, on September 29, 1938, which transferred the Sudetenland to Germany and the subsequent march of the German army into the Sudetenland on October 1, 1938.
