John Norton to [Robert C. Nicholas], has had a conference with Mr. Pownall concerning copper coinage which they feel should be at the Sterling rate, namely 46 half pence to the Avoirdupois pound, instead of 52 Irish currency, probably the Virginia halfpenny. Inquires after one J.N. who was ordered to leave Virginia for health reasons. Post script mentions that Mrs. Horrocks was suffering from a mild case of smallpox.
