Transcription: [double-headed eagle] The Schaffer Collection of Russian Imperial Art Treasures ROCKEFELLER CENTER NEW YORK #2869 Miniature gold Easter egg by CARL G. FABERGE, the celebrated Russian Court jeweler. It is finely enameled over a chased guilloché surface in a raspberry red. One side of the egg is decorated with an applied miniature sculpture in gold of an elephant with up-turned trunk. This is outlined by a band of white matte enamel separated from the red by narrow gold bands. MRS. JOHN L. PRATT
