Transcription: [double-headed eagle] The Schaffer Collection of Russian Imperial Art Treasures ROCKEFELLER CENTER, NEW YORK August 18, 1937 #G-16 Large jade Easter egg mounted in gold-gilt silver by CARL G. FABERGE [sic], the celebrated Russian Court jeweler. Of a fine green jade bearing a spotting of a darker green, the stone is cut out to paper-like thinness, making it translucent. Mounted in a bright yellow gold-gilt silver and bearing ruby catches with which to open it. It originally served as a jewel case.
