Transcription: [double-headed eagle] The Schaffer Collection of Russian Imperial Art Treasures Rockefeller Center, New York January 1, 1937 #1343 Very fine Easter egg cut out of a blue agate and decorated with a continuous motif of sprigs of four-pointed flowers and leaves cut out of silver and set with a myriad of tiny diamonds. It is a signed piece by "Carl G. Fabergé", the celebrated Russian court jeweler who is today so often referred to as the "Cellini of the 19th century."
