Sub-Series 1: Slave Crime, 1763/1993

Scope and content:

This sub-series contains Richard A. Rutyna's research of slave crime, legal history, colonial Virginia, American history, and Southern history. The sub-series contains several books, journals, newspaper clippings, and quarterlies including the Journal of American History, the William and Mary Quarterly, and Law and History Review. It also contains Rutyna's primary source materials, written drafts, notes and annotations, and other research materials.
