Scope and content:

Early sketches of works, some never completed. Duffy also kept jounrnals of his process with research notes for libretto and musings on which music would best achieve his goals. Included are source materials from papers, magazines, books, and other materials. Duffy continued to practice musical theory as an intellectual exercise, many of which are included within.
