The following text is printed directly onto the reverse of the cardboard mount: Old Stable and Carriage House at Mount Vernon. Copyrighted by Luke C. Dillon, Photographer to Mount Vernon, Office at Pullman's Gallery, 935 Penn. Avenue, Washington D. C. A penciled note (in the hand of Robert Waldsmith) on the reverse reads, 'Two cupolas at top of roof have been removed as of today, not there in 1799.'
