Stereoscopic view of the west wall and northwest corner of the new room. Mounted on orange board. The photographer's imprint on the front of the card reads, N. G. Johnson, Photographer, No. 317 Pa. Avenue, Washington D. C. Only Authorized Publisher of Mt. Vernon Views. The label on the reverse reads: State Dining Room, or Banquet Hall in which Washington gave his State Dinners,displaying Peal's (Peale's) painting of Washington before Yorktown and the interesting old relic, the Mayflower Chair, with its old-fashioned straight back, which was brought over i the ship Mayflower in 1620.
